Whispering Meadows Vineyards is a family-owned and operated vineyard in McAlester, Oklahoma.

The winery was founded by the McCallister family and is now operated by Jeff and Laura McCallister with the help of their three children Kevin, Jeremy, and Jenna. The estate’s focus is on hand-crafted wines that are made from 100% Oklahoma grapes.

Whispering Meadows’ wine list features a variety of selections that are perfect for any occasion. The estate’s flagship wine, the Whispering Meadows Vineyards Syrah, offers a rich flavor with notes of blackberry and cherry. Other popular wines include the Whispering Meadows Vineyards Zinfandel and the Whispering Meadows Vineyards Merlot.

Visitors to the winery can explore the estate’s historic buildings or relax in one of the vineyard’s covered picnic areas. The winery also offers private wine tastings for groups of up to 50 people.

The Carl Albert Birthplace Historical Marker is a bronze statue of a boy holding a dove in his hand. The statue is mounted on a base of granite and measures approximately six feet tall and four feet wide. The statue features an inscription that reads, This monument marks the birthplace of Governor Carl Albert.
